Chairman's Message
The company was started in 1926 by my Grandfather Mr. Charles Edward Manton Day thus the name C.E.M. Day Ltd. A name we sometimes abbreviate to Days for simplicity. As you can see from this date we have reached our 80th year in business in Swansea and South Wales.
From small beginnings in 1926 we employed eight people in St. Helens Road, Swansea. During the difficult war years the company was run by my auntie Valerie Day. On returning from the war my father Geoffrey Manton Day M.C. (Jimmy Day) took over the running of the company during which time it expanded rapidly. Since Mr. Days death in 1984 I have been Chairman and Managing Director, ably supported by Miss Jill Day my sister, Fellow Directors, Senior Managers and other employees. The company has remained in private ownership since 1926.
Now the company employs in the region of 500 people throughout South Wales, one of the largest private employers in the area.
The history of the company has been punctuated by progressive development, expansion and success, resulting in the company today being the largest Welsh based dealer group within Wales and within the top sixty dealer groups nationally. With group turnover in excess of £145 million pounds sterling.
Since its inception our company has been at the forefront of change and innovation receiving many awards from both the manufacturer and other external bodies. In 1989 and 1996 through to 2005 we received the European Ford Chairmans Award for outstanding customer satisfaction, a total of 11 Awards with the last 10 consecutive. In 1992 we achieved recognition as a B.S.I. registered company, and achieved national recognition as an Investors In People organisation in early 1995.
Undoubtedly the commitment and enthusiasm displayed by all our staff has contributed significantly to our success. Our focus for the future is to maintain this culture of continuous development to the benefit of our customers, our company and our employees.

Company History
From simple beginnings as "Singer" dealers in Swansea the C.E.M. Day Group now features amongst the top 50 motor groups in the UK. First awarded the Ford franchise in 1932, new vehicle sales are now in excess of 5,000 units from the 6 car and single truck sites. Used vehicle sales under the "MotorPark" trading style, in Swansea and now Haverfordwest, dramatically increased over recent years to over 3500 units. The award of the Ford Franchise in Swansea was quickly followed by that in Neath and in later years that of Port Talbot. The original Swansea premises are long gone replaced in 1955 by the head office in Gorseinon and in the 80's with a new ten-acre truck and car premises in Swansea which were acknowledged as the premier privately owned Ford Dealer premises in Europe at that time. More recent additions as Ford Dealerships are those at Llanelli and, new in 1996, Haverfordwest.
The diversification over the past 25 years have ensured the continued success and controlled growth of the Group, firstly came the daily rental company trading under the style of "Days Rental" which now operates over 2000 vehicles from 9 locations. More latterly the expansion into vehicle financing through "Three Cliffs Investments", which now has over 3,000 borrowers, and the vehicle services sector through "Days Contract Hire" which operates over 6,000 vehicles on both contract and on a fleet management basis. In 2004 we took on a new exciting challenge with Peugeot, we built a new 'Blue Box' showroom in our Swansea branch.
Quality systems and customer care have been the cornerstone of the Days philosophy, culminating in the prestigious BS5750 (now ISO9002) being awarded in 1992 and the "Investors in People" award in 1995. Many other accolades have come the company's way over the years including the European Ford Chairman's Award for outstanding customer satisfaction which the company has won over 10 years running.
